Katy is a city that can be found in the Harris, Waller Counties and Fort Bend, Texas, United State. Along Houston-Sugar Land-Bayton municipal area the area population was about 11,775 as of the millennium statistical studies. Katy is entitled in the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railway or usually called “K-T Railroad” which is currently a part of the Union Pacific that way up to Katy in the 19th century. Katy, formerly called as Cane Island which is determined from Cane Island Creek that ran through the downtown’s western area. Cane Creek is a part of Buffalo Bayou. The name Cane Island is considerably came from the main producer of sugar cane and rice. Every second week of October is the festival for the celebration and acknowledgement of the area in tribute to the late rice producing town. Many corporations are based in Katy and some of them surround the place. In the west of Katy can be seen the Igloo Corporation in the unorganized Waller County. Outdoors and academy Sports had their respective offices and products segregation center found in the unorganized western area of Harris County. KBR or before called Kellogg, Brown and Root is the worldwide construction and engineering firm design to start a new center of operations in the western unorganized Harris County in the intersection of I-10 and the Grand
Street. The 320,000 square miles complex is the next place to KBR’s 4500 or employees and would have eight low increases of buildings with 84,000 square miles as broadcast by one of the magazine in the Business Journal.
